About Me

I am a PhD Trainee in the Graduate Biomedical Sciences program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
Below is a brief overview of the work I am currently doing, what I've done in the past, and the tools I use to make it happen.

Current Research

Project 1: Define how ER stress in the airway epithelium drives inflammation-associated disruption of antibacterial defense using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq).

Project 2: Characterization of the host-pathogen dynamics of the airway epithelium during infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza.

Past Research

Sunnie Thompson Laboratory

Investigation of the connection between cell cycle and BK polyomavirus (BKPyV) in human renal proximal tubule epithelial (RPTE) cells.

SEA-PHAGES Course 2018-2019

Genomic characterization of bacteriophages infecting the host Corynebacterium xerosis.
